The plan ride & Day 1 of Hawaii 2011

So we headed out of CMH (Columbus Airport) on Friday afternoon at 3:05pm.  This was our Mista Munch at about 3:06pm.  He slept the entire first flight (too bad it was only 40 minutes)!!!

This was the only nap our lil man got on Friday.  

We had a quick layover in Detroit.  Just enough time for a diaper change and to get Grey some din din:)

Grey did not sleep at all on the flight from Detroit to LAX (Los Angeles, California)...but he was a perty darn good boy!  He got a lil squirmy at the end, but all in all he was a good boy!

We spent the night in L.A. to break up the trip!  Grey tried out his skillz as a bell hop!  If you ask me, he is the best of best! (or at least the cutest of the cute!)

 Our flight from LAX to HNL (Honolulu) was 5 hours and 30 minutes...and I had major anxiety about this flight.  Well I had absolutely no reason to be!  Grey was an angel.  Because he woke up at 3am in the hotel, he was one sleepy boy.  He slept for the first 90 minutes and the remaining four hours, he was an ANGEL.  He just watched his shows, read books and played.  First and foremost he read up on the safety procedures of the flight!  SAFETY FIRST PEOPLE!

 He was really pondering those safety procedures I tell ya!

We arrived into Honolulu at about 12:35pm...Micah picked us up and we headed HOME!  Grey never did nap again, but he was a wild man the rest of the day.  Must have been running on pure adrenaline:)  After Peek A Boo with Tutu...

He went to bed at about 7:45pm with no problems, but must have been out of sorts, because he was up at 3am!  He did doze til about 6am, but got all worked up ever thirty  minutes.  He and I finally got up at 6am...

After the rest of the crew got up and moving, we headed to Kailua Beach!!!  (Tutu (Grandma Judi) was so sweet and bought a car seat so we didn't have to bring ours all the way from Ohio.  They were out of black, so pink it was!!!)

 He dozed for a few minutes, but he wasn't going to miss the beach!!!

Even thought it was a super sunny day, I had to lotion up the lil man!  He is so haole (as the locals would say)....that means white!!!

 Needless to say, our lil boy is a true Hawaiian!!!  He loved the beach and the ocean:)

 A storm was a'coming....so we headed out!  How bout those Munekata boys!

 After lunch, a jog for me, and a failed attempt at a nap for Mista Munch, we headed to Winward Mall to check out the Choo choo train Tutu told us so much about!  Grey was excited...can't you tell???

This was the 2nd 10 minute nap of the day!

 It was a challenging first 10 minutes....even a bin of stuffed animals didn't excite Grey!

 But then we bought Munch some new shoes...

And Tutu took Munch to the play area at the mall!  Things were looking up!

 There is that award winning smile!

 And there it is again!

 And the first highlight of the evening...a Thomas the Train coin-operated ride!

 And an arcade....with Dance Dance Revolution!!!

 And why not walk up the ski ball ramp instead of rolling the balls up??!?!?!

 It's fun y'all....Grey says so!

And the 2nd (and best) highlight of the evening....a train ride around the mall!!!

 Last but not least, we stopped in at the toy store...where Sky (tortured)...I mean took pictures of our lil man in masks!

 And Tutu spoiled him rotten with a new Edward & James Thomas toys!

 We capped the evening off with a delicious dinner at Zia's (an Italian restaurant)!  We still aren't sure how Grey lasted until 8:30pm, but we definitely were grateful!  He was soooo good (thanks to the singing talents of Skyler & Tutu)!  And now, Tutu and I are enjoying a glass of wine while Micah & Sky enjoy a cigar, and Greyson is sleeping soundly (let's hope til at least 6 or 7 a.m.)!

It has been a wonderful trip already and its only been 36 hours...we are so excited for the next 2 weeks!  We are heading to a different beach next week on the other side of the Island...Alamoana:)
