Unplanned Friday

Sky caught this pic of Grey last night and I just had to share...he so rarely is looking at the camera!  

Such a handsome lil man even when its just before bedtime!

 So I woke up today to a text from Kim letting me know that Lissa (their youngest daughter) came down with the chicken pox!  Needless to say, Grey stayed home with me today!

We ran into the office for a while to get a few things done and he was an angel.  He got a lil stir crazy after a while, so we headed over to this walking path for a while.  He ran around like a wild man!!!

After we ran a work errand, we headed home, ate lunch and Grey went down for a nap.  I got some work done and Aunty Dani is babysitting tonight!  Sky and I are headed to a winery for our friend's book release party!!!  He has written and published 2 children's books now...Daddy's Juice and now Mommy's Juice...they are hysterical!

I had to note too that Grey is in this phase where he says Mommy after absolutely everything....it's precious.  If Skyler is around a lot, he says Daddy too...and sometimes he even gets confused and will call him Mommy or me Daddy out of habit!  God love this kid!

Trains, Trains & More Trains

Today was a nice lil mommy and Grey day.  We had no play dates planned so it was just he and I all day.  We both slept in a lil later than we normally do...I got up at 6:15 and Grey woke up right at 7.  We played trains at home...

then we headed to the mall to pick up some things for my company Christmas party...and we played some more trains...

 We had lunch at Chick Fila and then headed home.  Grey took a nice long nap so he was ready to go when he woke up!

It was chilly, but we ventured to the park anyway...the fresh air did us both some good!

We have a fun weekend ahead...we don't have plans to go out very often, but this weekend we are going to a book release party at a winery tomorrow night and then my company Christmas party at the new Casino Saturday night!

Back to the grind...

After a fun-filled Thanksgiving weekend, its actually kind of nice to get back to a routine!  And the normal routine is a lil more fun when its full of Christmas lights and decorations!

Grey is full of energy these days...and I am moving a bit slower....that makes for an interesting combination!  

But with this sweet face, how can you even get upset!?!?!?

I think Grey may have had his first nightmare this morning.  He woke up 30 minutes earlier than he normally does and was screaming for me.  Normally if he wakes up early, he'll just talk and read books, but this morning he was hysterical.  I can't say that I minded snuggling him for a half hour before it was time to get up!  I just hope this doesn't become a habit...I don't want my lil man having nightmares!

Today we went to story time at the library...but my lil man was too full of energy to sit still and listen to a story.  Instead of story time, we played blocks and borrowed some new books and dvds:)

Serious business I tell ya!

Tonight we went over to my friend Jen's house.  We missed Ben's 3rd birthday party a few weeks ago, so we headed over to give him his gift and play.  Jen and her hubby Mike cooked a delicious dinner and the kids had a ball!

Ben and Grey are only 9 months apart...the older they get, the more fun it is to watch them together!

26 Weeks

The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.

This pregnancy is officially flying!  I can hardly believe I am 26 weeks!  I am not sure if my belly has grown because of the baby or because of how much I ate over Thanksgiving weekend...lol!  I hated that my nose swelled in my last pregnancy and I looked back to see when it happened....it was right around 26 weeks...and looky, looky...I am 26 weeks and my nose is swelling!  Oh well...a small price to pay but there will be less and less pictures of me taken for the next 14 weeks:)  The baby is moving more and more which I just love....Sky can even see my belly move now!  I haven't been having the tailbone pain nearly as much, but still get heartburn quite often.  All in all, this pregnancy is going really well!  (knock on wood)

Thanksgiving Weekend

I have been really slacking on the blog this past week!  Prior to leaving for my parents house in Tennessee on Wednesday evening, I met Danielle for lunch at Chick Fila on Tuesday.  Grey ate like a champ and then played like crazy!!!

Wednesday evening, we got on the road around midnight.  We thought this would be best...give Sky time to nap before driving, Grey and I would sleep on the way, and then we'd arrive just as the rest of the family was waking up!

Grey did pretty well!  He slept til about 4am and then just watched movies and relaxed for the next two hours. 

Thursday was Turkey Day and we spent most of the day just hanging.  The weather was beautiful so we did take the dogs for a walk.

I mean the docs took Grey for a walk!

But Mista Munch loved it!

Check out this bird!  My mom is the best cook ever!  I ate more than I needed to, but at least I have the excuse that I'm eating for two:)

I have so much to be thankful for this year...my perfect son, my wonderful husband, a loving family, some of the best friends a girl could ask for, my health, and another son/daughter on the way!!!  Amen!

Friday we headed to Chattanooga, Tennessee to take Grey boy to the big Aquarium!!!

He didn't sit still for long...

But he had a ball!

In between the "fresh water" and the "salt water" exhibits, we made a pit stop at the gift shop! Of course, Grey chose a train for his "treat!"
From then on he was more interested in finding a ledge or hard surface to play trains on, then he was fish!!!

 After a few hours at the aquarium, we made a pit top for lunch!  Grey's meal came out super quick and ours took forever!!!  Thankfully I had bought him a "fishy" ring pop!  That kept him happy while we ate!

Sky said it was the most attention he had paid to a fish all day!

A snooze in the car is always a sign of a good time! The lil man slept for an hour after we got home too!

Saturday we went for a hike in the woods near my parents house.  It was a beautiful morning...a view of the mountains, lake and perfect fall leaves!

Our lil man had a ball!  He didn't really want to stay on the path, but thankfully there were 4 of us to keep an eye on him!

After 30 minutes or so, Grey needed a break!

After our hike, we all relaxed...some of us watched Dora and some of us watched the Buckeyes beat Michigan and finish
their season UNDEFEATED!

All in all we had a wonderful trip!  We left after dinner last night and got home around 2am this morning!  Nothing like being home...especially when the house is clean and all decorated for the holidays!  Sky just took Grey to the grocery store for me....and I am wrapping a few gifts and catching up on laundry!  Looking forward to football and hangin with my lil fam!
