28 weeks

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

So let's hope that baby is growing, because Mama sure is!  I had my 28 weeks appointment today and the baby's heartbeat was 148.  I believe this was the same rate as 4 weeks ago.  I cannot believe I am in my third trimester!  I had my glucose test today, so let's hope it comes back normal:)

Thank goodness for Prilosec.  I was having heartburn all day everyday for a week and I finally called the doc last week to see what I could take.  I started taking Prilosec once a day on Friday and haven't had any since!  Hallelujah!  I had some heartburn with Grey, but it was totally manageable with Tums.

Other than that, I am feeling great....still trying to exercise 3-4 days a week.  With the holidays around the corner, I should try more like 7 or 8 days a week!  LOL!  Only 12 more weeks:)

Lil of this & a Lil of that

This week has been pretty typical...nothing too exciting to report.
"The Chunk" was flying high and thought the vent on the wall would be a great place to keep watch on Grey on Thursday.  Grey got a kick out of him being all the way up there....he kept saying..."we have to get him".

This boy truly goes no where without his trains!
This is just Thursday morning on his way out of his room after waking up!

Morning routine includes closing all the doors in the hallway before we "play trains"!

My lil man has been sleeping so hard during his naps lately.  More often than not, I've had to wake him up so we can make sure he sleeps at night!
Not sure how this was comfy...but he was out cold!

Thursday afternoon, we braved the cold and had a play date at the park with Emerson & Christy.  The kids were more interested in climbing the rocks than they were in playing on the playground equipment.
I test this pic to Dani and she said...he looks 13 years old!   Of course, she is exaggerating a lil, but he does look like such a big boy! Where does the time go!?!!?!?
Friday was a rainy, gloomy day...I was swamped at work and Grey could finally go back to Kim's.  He was so excited to see the girls!  Last night we just ordered take out, wrapped some Christmas gifts, and went to bed early!
And of course, we played trains!
For some odd reason, I woke up at 3:30am and could not fall back asleep!  I rested in bed until 4:45, but this girl is going to need a nap today!  Of course, its 7:15 and my lil man is still sound asleep!  Why do our "sleep-ins" never match up!!?!?!?!

Alfies and "The Chunk"

I never dreamed Grey's Elf on a Shelf's name would stick, but it has!  "The Chunk" is here to stay!
Grey gets a kick out of finding him each morning...I'm not sure he totally understands, but its still fun!

Tuesday was a relatively warm day, so we took advantage and took a nice long walk.  Grey is loving all of the construction going on in our neighborhood.  He stood for a good 15 minutes to watch the excavator...aka "like Alfie".  This is a major feat...this boy never stands still!!!
Love my lil man:)

Hello Grasshopper!

Wild Lights at the Zoo

So Greyson woke up yesterday morning to fine "The Chunk" sitting on top of his Dinosaur Christmas tree!
He still giggles every time he says "The Chunk"...I love it!
Because Kim's daughter was diagnosed with Chicken Pox last week, Sky took Monday off to keep Grey at home...just to be safe.  We took advantage of him being home and the nice weather to go to the Christmas Lights at the Columbus Zoo.  In years past we had gone on the weekend, and it was crazy busy....but last night was perfect!
There were still a few animals out...and Grey loved the Flamingos!

We met our friends Mark, Christy, and Emerson there...When we told Grey to hold Emerson's hand, this is what we got! He started to say Trick or Treat because the last time they held hands for a pictures was Halloween!

My lil man loved the Carousel!

Hi Daddy!

Checkin out the fishies at the aquarium!
"Daddy...these lights are GREEEEEEN"

Our wild man was running around all over!  Thank God Sky was with me because these days I'm just not fast enough:)

Me, Grey boy, Emerson & Christy!

"I wanna get in der Mommy"

"I wanna touch it mommy"
Look who went for a swim with the fishies!!!!  Hello Santa Claus!

Lil Emerson is such a ham for the camera!  I wish Grey would sit still and pose like her!  LOL

Watchin the light show on our way out!!!

After a couple hours at the zoo, we stopped for some dinner on the way home.  Grey was  one hungry boy!
So we are really trying to get Greyson to try more foods...  On Sunday I made a new chicken dish that is very kid friendly...let's be honest, I am not the most adventurous eater:)  So Grey would not even take a bite...and we decided our rule was....you have to at least try it.  I won't force him to eat anything, but we want him to at least try a bite.  That stubborn lil turd wouldn't even try it so he went to bed with no dinner.  It broke my heart, but Sky was right...he woke up the next morning and ate like a tank.  He still wouldn't try the chicken on Monday....but we are going to keep trying!  With a new baby due in less than 3 months, we figure cooking one meal a night will become more and more important:)

Our weekend

Friday evening Sky and I headed to a lil winery in Powell for our friend's book release party.  He has written two children's books..."Daddy's Juice" and now "Mommy's Favorite Juice" (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1991002567/mommys-favorite-juice-a-childrens-book-about-wine).  Unfortunately, I could not enjoy the wine, but it was still a good time.  We met Travis for a bite to eat before hand so it was a nice lil night out.  My sista, Danielle, was nice enough to watch Munchy for the night.  He had a ball....because the next morning he yelled for me for about 1 minute....and then started yelling for "dani!".

You'll never believe it, but here is what Auntie Dani and Munchy did all night!
TRAINS...

TRAINS...

AND MORE TRAINS!

TOO BAD HE'S NOT HAVING ANY FUN!

How can you not love this kid with that smile!??!?!

Saturday the weather was unseasonably warm, so we spent the better part of the morning outside.  I had a baseball cap on, so naturally Grey insisted both he and daddy wear one!
Sporty Munchy...running a usual!

Plotting his next move!

Who's there?

Is that a grasshopper?
(I'll post a video of him talking to the grasshopper next post...priceless!)
We have my company Christmas party on Saturday evening at the new Columbus Casino.  We had a private room, ate a yummy dinner, some of us had some drinks (NOT ME...LOL), and then we gambled a bit!  My boss is so generous this time of year...bonuses, giveaways, and casino chips to play a lil!  It was a fun night, but man was I tired on Sunday!

We also started a new tradition at our home....Elf on the Shelf!  My mom bought this for Grey a few years ago, but this was the first year he is old enough to even begin to understand.  She found a DVD that tells the story even better than the book!  We watched that and have read the book a few times:)

Greyson named our elf "The Chunk"!  I have no idea where he got this name, but he giggles every time he says it!  It's pretty sweet!
Do you see our Elf on the Shelf?

27 weeks

This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

I am still feeling great.  I am working out 3 to 4 days a week, trying to eat healthy (not easy through the holidays:)), and enjoying the end of my 2nd trimester:)  Still nothing better than feeling and seeing our little baby move!  Hard to believe we will be a family of 4 in just 3 months (God-Willing).
