Hawaii Days 1 through 4

Our trip started veeeerrrryy early on Saturday.  We had our alarms set at 3:20, but Greyson was sooooo excited that he came into our rooms at 2 and said that its been night time forever.  I think he was really excited!

Dee took us to the airport at 4am.  We had a flight at 6am, so we didn't want to risk being late!  The timing worked out great!  We had a 5 hour and 15 minute flight to L.A. and then another 5 hour 50 minute flight to Honolulu.

We boarded right on time, but sat on the runway for an hour while we waited for a working de-icing truck to take care of the iced wings.

We weren't sure what to expect from the kids, but they did really well!  (thanks to snacks and suckas!!!)

Can you even stand the headphones and snacks!  Thank goodness for technology:)

Even though we were delayed an hour, we still made it to L.A. on time.  We had about two hours before our next flight so we ate our second breakfast (it was lunchtime in Ohio but only breakfast time in Cali)
Someone was perty tired!

We boarded and Grey was content playing on the IPAD and Tator passed right out.

Too bad the takeoff woke her up twenty minutes later and she didn't sleep at all the rest of the flight.  After getting up at 3:45 and only napping an hour on the first flight, we were sure Tator would crash!  Boy were we wrong!

We got our luggage and rental car and about an hour later, we were on our way to Tutu's house.

Sean, Aiko, Emi, Eri, Micah, Matt and Tutu were all waiting for us!
Grey and the girls had an absolute ball!
They couldn't wait to have a slumber party!

The kids finally crashed about 8:30 and slept til about 5 for Tator and 7 for Grey.  All in all, it wasn't bad at all!

Morning view from the back patio!

The boys golfed and the rest of us hung out at the house.  It was a cloudy, rainy day so it was nice to just chill and get adjusted to the new time zone and surroundings.  The kids had a ball!

The boys got home and we headed to Big City Diner for a big ol lunch!

The whole fam!

Sweet Tator bug!

We came back to the house and Tator, Sky and I all napped and then headed to the mall to ride the Xmas train and grab dinner!  It was sooo much fun!

These little horses were adorable!  If you bobbed up and down they moved!  It was so fun to watch:)

Joy is such the perfect word for the night!

The kids shared pizza and a smoothie for dinner!

After tooling around the mall a little, we headed home to celebrate Christmas with Sean, Aiko and the girls since they had to leave on Monday.

Then Tutu made cut out cookies with the kids!

My baby never falls asleep on me anymore!  To say Tator was exhausted would be an understatement!
Monday we woke up and the kids and I ran around outside for a while!
Sky always grabs Tator's leg and calls it her Turkey leg, so I chased all the kids looking for their turkey legs! (perfect way to tire out 4 kids 5 and under!)

Sky took Sean, Aiko and the girls to the airport and then the rest of us headed to Kailua beach!

This was Tator's first trip to the beach and Greyson's first in a while...let's just say they loved it!

Later that evening, we headed to Sumo Ramen for some local style eats!

Like father, like son!

Tuesday we got up and headed to Alamuana beach on the town side of the island.  We thought the weather was going to be iffy, but about 10 minutes after we arrived, it turned out to be an absolutely perfect day!

We played in the water, built sand castles, buried Daddy, looked for crabs, and Tator even caught a nap!

Later that evening, the boys and I headed over to Aiea to meet Micah and his friends and go bowling, We laughed all night and the boys got perty drunk!

We all rallied and got up and headed out by 8:30 to hit up the swap meet at Aloha Stadium!
Such a fun place to pick up local gifts for people back home!

After a loop around and lots of goodies, we headed for a late breakfast at Zippys and then to Kaimana beach for an even more perfect day!

Grey met a tourist at the beach (about 7 years old) and played with her for hours.  Tator was happy floating in the water and playing in the waves!  We hung for about 2.5 hours and then headed home.
We saw a beautiful sky with a rainbow in the background as we passed over the mountains.

Both kids were beyond pooped!  Tator was out within 2 minutes and Grey about 20 minutes (he waited for the malasadas)  We were close by so we stopped at Leonards...Malasadas are the most heavenly sweet on the earth.  They are like doughy elephants ears!  They melt in your mouth and are absolutely delicious!

We got home, Grey played trains and the rest of us napped!  We just made some tacos and are hanging at home tonight!  So far, we have had an amazing trip!  I am so thrilled we still have 10 days left!  Not sure what's on the agenda but I will be sure to take lots of pics!
