After our fiasco Wednesday night, we headed off to West Point for Skyler's 10 year reunion! Thankfully Travis was with us so we had two drivers. I was useless due to not sleeping at all Wednesday night. We took the van and I laid down with my pillow/blanket and zonked! We had a 10 hour drive and I slept at least half of it. I spent the other time watching movies and just relaxing!
We arrived at our hotel about 5pm and got ready for dinner with Travis, Magda, and Travis! It was so great seeing them! I so wish we lived closer!

Saturday we got up early and headed to West Point. It is absolutely beautiful! We visited at the perfect time of year. I swear, the mountains and trees looked almost not real it was so beautiful!
There was a memorial service in the chapel for all of the fallen soldiers from the Class of 2004. I believe there were 11 lost:( A very close friend of Travis Marks' was killed in 2007 I believe. His parents attended the reunion. My heart truly went out to them. I can't even imagine how hard it must have been to be surrounded with all of their son's friends without their son around. Sky also lost a close friend, Mike Cerrone. His parents were not there, but it was still nice for all of the classmates to reflect.

After the memorial, we spent the day walking around West Point. We visited Sky's barracks, the library, the Cadet store, etc... It was perfect weather and so wonderful to finally see where Sky spent 4 years of his life.
Friday night we went to a "dressy" dinner at the hotel with all of Sky's classmates. We didn't take one picture:( I passed out about 11pm, but Sky drank and visited until 2:30am! What a trooper!!!
Saturday morning was another early morning. Unfortunately it was raining so the wreath laying ceremony and parade was cancelled. We did make it for the lunch in the mess hall. The "mess hall" was absolutely amazing! All of the cadets eat at the same time so there is literally room for 1000+.
After lunch, we headed to the stadium. It was cold and wet, but the Black Knights won! (and that doesn't happen often!)
After the game, the sky cleared, the sun came out, and the weather turned to perfection again! There was a post-game tailgate organized and it was really nice. Just more food, drinks and visiting. By about 6pm, Cristina and I were done! We were damp and tired!!! We headed back to the hotel, took a nice hot shower, and I settled into bed. Skyler was beyond tired, but he didn't want to miss anything. He headed back out to the hotel bar and hung until 1:30am! Carazy man!
We got up early and got on the road at 630! I was soooo reaady to see these two!
We made it home in good time...arrived home at 3pm! It was a nice break from reality, but coming home is always wonderful!
