Memorial Day

Is the long weekend over already??!??!?  It was such a great weekend...beautiful weather, Sky's birthday, mulching finally done, and lots of hanging with my boys!  We spent Memorial Day at the pool and then headed for Mexican and an Italian ice!  I am working in the office Tuesday and Thursday this week...and home Wednesday and Friday.  Kim (my usual sitter) is in the hospital with pnemonia:(  I feel so bad for her, but luckily I have wonderful neighbors that are helping me today and my mama is coming up tomorrow evening until Sunday!  Sky is working a lot so its perfect timing:)

Just checking out what's in the cupboard

With a sock in my mouth of course

I can almost reach it...

Who me????!?!?

Loooong weekend

It is so nice to have a long weekend at home with out too many plans!  Sky's birthday was Saturday and we decided to have a last minute cookout...the weather was great!  Of course I only took pics of Munch before the guests arrived...none with all the guests:(

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Just hanging with the Birthday man:)

Just gotta check under my hood

my boys:)

We looks like terrible parents, but this bottle is totally empty and rinsed out.  Grey screamed and threw a  mini tantrum b/c he wanted Daddy's beer so bad!  Finally Sky gave in and gave him the bottle.  It kept Grey occupied for a good 20 minutes!

Kisses from Daddy!

We spent a lot of the day Saturday doing yard work too!  Needless to say we were all exhausted by 11 when our guests took off.  All in all I think Sky had a great birthday:)

This morning we got up and went to church and then headed back outside.  Dad did some more yard work and munch and I played in his baby pool!  We headed over to Travis's parents house for a cookout this evening.  They grilled steak and roasted asparagus and potatoes!  It was delicious:)

All ready for church!
Trying to untie my shoes...just not a fan of these things

Mr. & Mrs. Dent brought Travis's old rocking horse down from storage so Grey could try him out!

Mrs Dent, me, Grey, and Travis:)

I am so happy to have one more "weekend" day!  Tomorrow we are going to spend some time either at the pool or at a park...the weather is supposed to be hot hot hot and we are about yard-worked out!

On another note, Grey is walking more and more.  Unless he is tired, walking has become his mode of movement about 60% of the time.  I can't believe our big boy is going to be 11 months old next weekend!

Yummy Dessert!

Just linking up with http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/2011/05/show-us-your-life-desserts.html to share one of my favorite desserts and steal some new ideas from her blog.

Sopapilla Cheesecake is easy and delicious!
Enjoy...

Ingredients

  • 3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 (8 ounce) cans crescent roll dough
  •
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds

  • Directions

    1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
    2. Beat the cream cheese with 1 1/2 cups of sugar, and the vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth. Unroll the cans of crescent roll dough, and use a rolling pin to shape the each piece into 9x13 inch rectangles. Press one piece into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture into the baking dish, then cover with the remaining piece of crescent dough.
    3. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top of the cheesecake. Stir the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar together with the cinnamon in a small bowl, and sprinkle over the cheesecake along with the almonds.
    4. Bake in the preheated oven until the crescent dough has puffed and turned golden brown, about 45 minutes. Cool completely in the pan before cutting into 12 squares.

What is with the napping schedule??!??!

So we attempted the one nap yesterday...no morning nap and put Grey down at 1ish for his "long" afternoon nap!  NOT SO MUCH!  Try 20 minutes and Munch was up and ready to play.  He did take about a 10 minute cat nap in the car, but other than that, Grey was up ALL DAY!  I thought for sure he'd go to bed at 7 like he did the night before...but again, I was wrong.  We put him in his crib at 8 and he rolled around and talked until about 845 when he finally crashed!  I had to wake him up at 630 and he took most of his bottle with his eyes still closed...I'm not so sure he was ready to get up!  Despite being woken up, he was still in a great mood...lots of smiles this morning!
Hi mama!

U like my crocs?

Oh there's that remote!

Pointing my toe...so what????

Tastes pretty good if I do say so myself!

Deep in thought...what should I watch?????

I think I'll just have another taste!

One Nap

Since Grey is pretty much done with the jumperoo, I loaned that to my friend Lianne for her 5 month old...and she loaned us this nifty lil car!  Grey just loved it!

Deep in thought!
So after a full day with no naps, this was the result at 7pm last night!

I'm not sure there is anything sweeter.  He very rarely falls asleep in our arms anymore, so this was such a treat last night!  I held him for about 45 minutes...I have to cherish times like this...it's very rare that he is ever still!

After 11 1/2 hours of sleep, Mr. Munch woke up in a great mood!
Hi mom!

I want my blanky!!!!!
What?

After no naps yesterday and a week of very very very short morning naps, Sky and I decided we are going to transition to one nap a day....or at least try to.  We are hoping he'll go down around 1 or 1:30 and sleep til 3:30ish?  We'll see how it goes!

Happy Wednesday!

Lots of diapers and No Naps!

So Grey went number 2 6 times yesterday...only took a 45 minute nap in the morning and an hour and 15 minute nap in the afternoon.  He didn't go to bed until 8 and was awake until at least 845.  Then...he was up and crying by 615 b/c he had another number 2 in his diaper.  He has gone 4 or 5 times today and has not napped more than 20 minutes in the car!!!!  All the poos were scaring me so I called the doc to be safe...since he is eating okay, no fever, and no diarhea, they aren't too concerned yet.  Hopefully he'll stop going so much and sleep well tonight.  Poor guy!  He is in a pretty good mood considering.  We met Lianne and her girls for lunch and played at the park for a bit this afternoon!  Grey loved sliding down the slides with mom...and he loved loved loved the swing!  He giggled!

Screaming

So I believe Greyson has officially learned that crying/fussing/screaming is a way to express that he is not happy! He figured it out Saturday and since then has used it waaaaaaaaaaay too much!  It's funny on one hand...he gets all red in the face and stiffens up...and screams!  Let's just hope its a phase and let's hope he never does it in public...ha!

He woke up in a good mood and ate a big breakfast....banana yogurt and 1/2 of a blueberry whole wheat waffle.  He is slowly weaning off the formula...still getting his minimum of 24 ounces, but the doc was right....he would naturally eat more food and less formula as he gets older!  Hard to believe he'll be done with bottles in just over a month!

Yummy...waffles:)

Just brushing my teeth after breakfast

Getting those non-existent molars gooooooood!

He looks like such a big boy here I can't even stand it!
C'mon mom...let's go...I'm ready!
